Course Description

This course covers two fundamental areas of mathematical analysis required for engineering disciplines:

  • Sequences and Series of Functions: A study of various types of convergence, with a specific focus on power series and Fourier series.

  • Functions of Several Variables: An exploration of their core properties, including continuity, differentiability, and local behavior.

Target Audience

This course is designed for second-year computer science students

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Confidently work with and manipulate series of functions.

  • Apply topological concepts and differentiability techniques to functions of multiple variables.

  • Understand the core methods and foundational tools of pure mathematics.

  • Develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Express mathematical ideas logically and convincingly, both in writing and speech.
